Welcome to Ron's Fine Art Studio Classes in Pasadena, CA
Ron the Art Coach believes that art is a fundamental aspect of human life and should be accessible to everyone. His art classes are designed to help you develop your creative skills and express yourself through a variety of mediums. Passionate about teaching, Ron will provide you with the guidance and support you need to achieve your artistic goals.
- Class is limited to 6 students per session and is first come availability.
- ALL painting materials will be provided. (Canvas board included. *Stretched canvas is extra). Aprons also provided, but suggest wearing comfortable paintable clothes.
- For ages 12+ to Adult
- The location of the studio is near VONS off of Colorado Blvd. and Sierra Madre Blvd. in Pasadena, CA. Parking will be on the street.
If interested in the classes below, click the Sign-up button associated to the Session you would like to join if seats are available. You will receive an email response within 24hrs. Payment for classes is due on the first day of class via Cash, Check or Zelle.
**These classes are NOT associated with Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden. Ron's Saturday classes at the Arboretum (Basic & Mid-Advanced painting) will continue this year and for the foreseeable future.

Tuesday Evening 6-8pm Open Painting Sessions
DATE: Tuesday evenings
TIME: 6:00pm - 8:00pm (2 hrs)
PRICE: $ 25 per person (for the entire session)

This class will allow you to come in and use the Studio for painting. ALL materials will be provided. (Canvas board included. Stretched canvas is extra). Ron the Art Coach will be there to answer questions, assist you on paintings you are starting or are currently working on and possibly have informational handouts for you.
** Due to a limitation of 6 seats available in the Studio, we can't have people just drop in. You will still need to sign up for these open classes per the dates listed below.

Sunday Session 6 - Mini Canvas Painting - 10/26/25
DATE: Sundays 10/26, 11/2, 11/9 (3 week session)
TIME: 11:00am - 2:00pm (3 hrs)

This class is appropriate for people that have experience with basic painting skills and can read the color wheel for color mixing and who wish to paint in the company of others.
BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND
Due to the popularity of the first Mini Canvas painting class back in July, we are not only offering this class again, BUT also extending it out by 1 day, so it is now a 3 week class.
In this session you will focus on developing new skills in miniature painting. You will create art on a small scale (4x4" canvas or smaller) using fine detail brushes and exploring various themes and techniques.
- Expect to finish 1-2 paintings.
- Use the "rule of thirds" to draw image on canvas.
- Handouts will be given to supplement the in-person instruction.

Sunday Session 5 - Desert Landscapes - 9/21/25
DATE: Sundays 9/21, 9/28, 10/5, 10/12 (4 week session)
TIME: 11:00am - 2:00pm (3 hrs)
PRICE: $ 30 per person (for the entire session)
PAYMENT TYPE: Cash, Check or Zelle (due on the first day of class)
This class is appropriate for people that have experience with basic painting skills and can read the color wheel for color mixing and who wish to paint in the company of others.
In this session we will focus on painting Desert Landscapes and the wildlife that inhabit within. Learn skills on perspective, composition, warm vs cool colors, light & shadow.
- Expect to finish 1-2 paintings on canvas board using Acrylic paint. For seasoned artists, we offer water mixable oil (oil H20).
- Use the "rule of thirds" or projector to trace image on canvas.
- Handouts will be given to supplement the in-person instruction.
