Fine Art Studio Classes in Pasadena, CA....
Ron the Art Coach believes that art is a fundamental aspect of human life and should be accessible to everyone. His art classes are designed to help you develop your creative skills and express yourself through a variety of mediums. Passionate about teaching, Ron will provide you with the guidance and support you need to achieve your artistic goals.
- Class is limited to 6 students per session and is first come availability.
- Currently classes will be held on Sundays. However, we are planning to offer classes in the future during the week.
- Session lengths and pricing will vary based on the type of class.
- ALL materials will be provided.
- The location of the studio is near VONS off of Colorado Blvd. and Sierra Madre Blvd. in Pasadena, CA. Parking will be on the street.
These classes are NOT associated with Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden. Ron's Saturday classes at the Arboretum (Basic & Mid-Advanced painting) will continue this year and for the foreseeable future.
Session 1 - Color Mixing - Starting April 27, 2025
DATE: Sundays from 4/27/25 - 6/1/25 (6 week session)
TIME: 11:00am - 2:00pm (3hrs)
PRICE: $40 per person (for the entire session)
PAYMENT TYPE: Cash or Check (due on the first day of class)
This class is appropriate for people that have experience with basic painting skills and can read the color wheel for color mixing and who wish to paint in the company of others.
For ages 15yrs - Adult.
In this session you will focus on learning and refining your skills in color mixing/values, color theory, and emotions in color using a monochromatic and broken color scheme. Expect to finish 2-3 paintings. Handouts will be given to supplement the in-person instruction.
4/27/25 Week 1 – Monochrome
A monochromatic color scheme uses a single hue (color) and its variations (tints, tones, and shades) .
- Review class building exercises and handouts.
- Start monochrome painting.
5/4/25 Week 2 – Monochrome
- Finish monochrome painting.
- Voluntary show & tell of finished painting.
5/11/25 Week 3 – Broken Color
- Review class building exercises and handouts.
- Start broken color painting.
5/18/25 Week 4 – Broken Color
- Finish broken color painting.
- Voluntary show & tell of finished painting.
5/25/25 Week 5 – Guest speaker/Demo OR independent painting
If no guest speaker or demo is scheduled, use this time to work on current or new paintings.
6/1/25 Week 6 – Guest speaker/Demo OR independent painting
If no guest speaker or demo is scheduled, use this time to work on current or new paintings.
